VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Pelican Childcare Mount Martha deeply values its relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, honoring and respecting Elders from the past, present, and future. We recognise Australia's true histories and First Nation's peoples continued contributions to the nation's diverse cultural landscape. Our unwavering commitment is to responsibly include First Nations peoples' true histories, cultures, knowledge, and perspectives into our daily operations. This is not a mere gesture but a fundamental step toward mutual respect and understanding. As an inclusive, community-oriented organisation, Pelican Childcare recognises the ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to our lives and community. We prioritise genuine, equitable partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities for the benefit of all people. Aligned with our dedication to reconciliation, we actively support a vision of a more equitable and equal Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families have the same opportunities as all non-Indigenous people. Through our respectful relationships with First Nations peoples, we advocate for reconciliation and embed inclusion practices in our daily procedures. Central to our approach is building and nurturing trusting relationships. We will create culturally safe spaces for First Nations peoples, including families, to share their stories, histories, cultures, and languages as they choose.  By doing this we are continuing to foster mutual respect, cultural exchange, and a more inclusive future for all Australians.
