Goodstart Early Learning, Traralgon - Park Lane believe Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and non-Indigenous children should have equal and equitable access to quality education and learning opportunities. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia, continuing to develop a deep respect and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives.
We will continue to actively work towards reconciliation, through embracing unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians, promoting equality and equity, engaging in historical acceptance of our shared histories, and supporting the removal of discrimination and negative race relations. We believe that reconciliation is about relationships, respect and trust. We will continue to foster relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with respect and seek to provide opportunities for First Nations voices within the service.
We strive to enrich the lives of educators, children, families, volunteers and the wider community through a deeper understanding of, and connection to, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and work towards being a culturally safe and inclusive centre for all children to grow in their knowledge of the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.
