Our vision for reconciliation at Goodstart Yarrawonga is an environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and children feel included, equal and respected within.
As a service, we strive to provide learning programs and experiences that respectfully integrate First Nations perspectives and practices. Goodstart Yarrawonga recognises the histories, cultures and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the ongoing connections First Peoples have to Country. We actively recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures as being the oldest continuing cultures on the planet.
We strive for a respectful and inclusive workplace, strengthening our connections and relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We believe that every interaction, policy, and decision should be based on understanding of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our commitment to reconciliation means recognising ongoing injustices and impacts on First Nations peoples since colonisation. We strive for all educators and children to understand the importance of reconciliation and be aware of the importance of our role in building an inclusive, shared and reconciled future for everyone.
