At Goodstart Wangaratta Williams Road, our vision for reconciliation is to provide a culturally safe environment, fostering equal and equitable education opportunities and outcomes for all children to learn, grow and thrive. We continue to establish and maintain authentic relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the community to inform our understanding of their cultures, histories and perspectives. We aim to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait perspectives, as well as individual families' perspectives within our curriculum, so children see their cultures and identities represented within their learning environment. We acknowledge that reconciliation is an ongoing journey and commit to approaching our learning with open minds, and reflecting on our approaches. We strive to embed First Nation's perspectives throughout our day-to-day practice, supporting children to take part in the critical reflection of their own lived experiences; to become agents of change and future advocates for reconciliation.
