At Coleraine and District Kindergarten, reconciliation means strengthening respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and engaging in truth-telling. We are committed to learning from and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to fostering a culturally safe environment where children, families and staff feel respected, heard and connected to the kindergarten community. Â We will foster positive two-way relationships by respectfully engaging with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Through culturally responsive teaching, storytelling, and play, we will promote respect for and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures from an early age. Â We commit to recognising the strengths and diversity of First Nations peoples and cultures and ensuring equal and equitable access to learning outcomes and participation. Our program reflects the unique identities of all children and includes perspectives that value and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of being, knowing and doing. Â We bring our community together to celebrate First Nations peoples and cultures during community events throughout the year. Â Our commitment to reconciliation is embedded in our philosophy, planning, and practice. A working group will guide our RAP and ensure accountability through regular reflection, community engagement, and visible actions on our reconciliation journey. Â We acknowledge the truth of Australias shared histories and commit to age-appropriate learning that supports understanding and healing. By listening to local First Nations peoples stories and voices, we honour the ongoing connections Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with Country and culture. Â Â Â Â Â Â
