At Brighton Early Learning Centre, our vision for reconciliation is alive and evolving. We are no longer just imagining what a reconciled future might look like we are walking toward it, together, with intention, care, and respect.
We continue to honour the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn and play. We acknowledge their unbroken connection to Country, their wisdom, cultures, and languages and we are committed to embedding this knowledge meaningfully into our service and curriculum.
As we move forward on our reconciliation journey, we are deepening our practice through reflection, action, and genuine relationship-building. Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) guides us as we collaborate with children, families, educators, and the wider community to create a culturally safe and inclusive environment for all.
We reflect on our practices through staff meetings, RAP reviews, and community consultation ensuring that our actions are grounded in respect and shaped by the voices of those around us. Educators are engaging in professional development that builds confidence in truth-telling, cultural inclusion, and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across all areas of our service.
Through stories, language, art, music, connection to nature, and open dialogue, we are raising children who are culturally aware, empathetic, and proud to walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We know that reconciliation is a journey one that requires humility, commitment, and courage. Together, with our families, children, staff, and community, we continue to learn, grow, and act shaping a future where reconciliation is not just possible, but a living part of who we are every day.
