Reconciliation, to us, is strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people for the benefit of all Australians. Our vision for reconciliation at Goodstart Rowville - Murrindal Drive is for all to hold understandings of the diverse cultures and histories of First Nations peoples of Australia, acknowledging that they are the longest living cultures in the world. It is our role to listen, learn and adapt our way of thinking with respect to the perspectives and traditions of the Wurundjeri and Bunwurrong Peoples.
We continue to respectfully engage with the local Aboriginal community and Elders of the Wurundjeri and Bunwurrong Peoples. As our centre actively works towards reconciliation, we embrace unity between First Nations peoples and other Australians by promoting equality and equity, historical acceptance of our shared histories and the removal of discrimination and negative race relations.
As a centre, we also believe that reconciliation is about relationships, respect and trust. Our Reconciliation Action Plan is a formal statement of our commitment to reconciliation and forging long-term sustainable, respectful and meaningful relationships with the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung Peoples. Goodstart Early Learning Rowville - Murrindal Drive is a wholly inclusive centre that respects the diverse cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and incorporates learning and activities for children to grow in their knowledge of including and respecting the diversity of First Nations peoples.
