VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision at Goodstart Mont Albert is to create a culturally safe and inclusive environment that acknowledges and deeply respects the Histories, Cultures, Perspectives, and Contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. We are committed to embedding these cultural practices into our daily activities, recognizing them as integral to Australia’s shared national story and identity.

Through thoughtful engagement, we aim to nurture and celebrate the unique cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, fostering a deep understanding of reconciliation, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, learning, and living. We teach children to embrace these practices and integrate them into their development as informed, empathetic, and respectful Australians.

We guide children to connect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture through meaningful activities and immersive environments. These experiences empower children to recognize and celebrate this culture as part of their own identity, promoting respect and inclusivity from a young age.

Our educators are committed to ongoing professional growth in understanding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and perspectives. In developing and reviewing this vision, we actively engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and Reconciliation Australia’s Narragunnawali team, ensuring their perspectives shape our practices. This strengthens our commitment to reconciliation, creating an inclusive, respectful, and unified Australia.

At Goodstart Mont Albert, we aim to guide children on a lifelong journey of respect, understanding, and connection to the stories and cultures that are foundational to our country’s past, present, and future.
