VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

We renew our commitment to working towards reconciliation and to respectfully integrating First Nations peoples’ cultures, knowledges, insights, histories and perspectives into our everyday ways of being and doing. We continue to move forward in allyship with First Nations peoples, recognise that reconciliation is a process that requires time and thought. As we deepen our respectful and reciprocal relationships with local First Nations community members, we understand that learning from First Nations peoples involves deep listening.

We believe that children deserve to learn the truth and strive to provide opportunities to engage in truth telling and learning about the local histories significance of Country. At SEED, we strive for children to learn from First Nations peoples about connecting with Country; the place where they learn, play, grow and love.

The foundations of our work with children and families is driven by trauma-informed relational pedagogy. We continue to deepen our understanding by learning from the wisdom, resilience, diversity and values of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
