Our vision for Reconciliation is to be involved in an ongoing learning journey that deepens our knowledge and strengthens our connections to the local Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, and we commit to walking alongside them in a spirit of respect, learning and partnership.   Goodstart Eltham recognises the unique opportunity that we have as early childhood educators to provide children with meaningful opportunities to understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples connections to Country, respecting the diversity of First Nations peoples and cultures, and grow as future citizens who value inclusion, diversity and unity. We strive to include knowledge of and respect for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures through respectfully including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander content and perspectives into our everyday practices with children and families.  Our vision also encapsulates our efforts in creating the conditions that support social justice, equality and equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all people.  Through this vision, we are laying the foundations to grow current and future generations that value and recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures and heritages as a proud part of a shared identity. We acknowledge the links that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with the ancient and current histories of Australia, through the Lands from which our early learning environments have been created.  We are committed to building respectful relationships with First Nations peoples based on trust, respect and recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures as enduring, the world's longest living cultures. On a foundation of equity, equality, integrity and respect we create high quality early learning experiences for all children.
