VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Smart Start Early Learning and Development Centre, our vision for reconciliation is to create an inclusive, welcoming, and culturally safe learning environment that recognises and deeply respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia. We are committed to embedding First Nations perspectives meaningfully and respectfully throughout our curriculum, ensuring this remains a priority for children, families, and educators.     Through intentional teaching, reflective practice, and ongoing learning, we support our community to deepen their understanding of First Nations cultures, histories, and perspectives. We actively work to build and maintain genuine relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, fostering partnerships grounded in respect, shared learning, and cultural responsibility.     Our commitment is closely aligned with our child safety framework, ensuring the voices, heritages, and histories of First Nations peoples are heard, valued, and represented. By embedding these perspectives across our pedagogy and daily practices, we continue to strengthen cultural responsiveness, ensuring our service reflects the richness and diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a respectful, informed, and meaningful way.
