At our childcare service, our Reconciliation Action Plan reflects our ongoing commitment to valuing, honouring, and respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. We strive to foster meaningful relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and deepen our connections to Country, creating a respectful and inclusive environment where every child can learn, grow, and belong. Guided by the 2025 theme Bridging Now to Next, we acknowledge the unbroken connection between past, present, and future. We are committed to reflecting on the truths of the past, taking meaningful action in the present, and working towards a reconciled future for the next generations. By respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories into our daily practices and learning experiences, we aim to build bridges of understanding and respect. Our policies and practices will continue to promote inclusivity, cultural safety, and anti-discrimination, fostering open dialogue and deeper awareness within our community. We will create authentic opportunities for children, families, and educators to engage with stories, perspectives, and traditions that honour the wisdom of First Nations peoples while inspiring hope for the future. Through ongoing collaboration with local First Nations communities and Traditional Custodians, we will strengthen our collective journey of reconciliation. By investing in meaningful professional development, we will equip our team to respectfully embed reconciliation in education, bridging the lessons of yesterday with the actions of today, to create a better tomorrow.
