Our Vision for Reconciliation at Goodstart Taylors Hill
Located on Wurundjeri Land, our vision for reconciliation at Goodstart Taylors Hill is grounded in the active recognition and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the First Peoples of Australia. We understand that moving forward in our reconciliation journey requires us to acknowledge and embrace Australias true histories honestly, and to share these respectfully with children, families, and ourselves.
We are deeply committed to acknowledging and addressing the injustices and inequalities experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples since colonisation, while also honouring their enduring strength, resilience, and rich cultural heritage.
Our commitment extends to building authentic, respectful, and meaningful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. We recognise the vital importance of fostering strong connections with the families of Goodstart Taylors Hill. As part of this ongoing journey, we will continue to create opportunities to engage with Elders and Traditional Owners, listening attentively to their voices to ensure our learning environment is culturally safe, inclusive, and supportive.
We embrace the continuous process of learning, unlearning, and relearning, seeking to deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, being, and learning. This commitment guides us as we strive to create an environment where culture is celebrated, respected, and integrated meaningfully throughout our community.
