VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Saltwater Child Care, we are committed to fostering an environment where strong connections, mutual respect, and trust are nurtured between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous communities. We recognise the vital importance of acknowledging, learning about and respecting the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.

Our vision is a community that not only acknowledges the significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures. We believe that reconciliation is a crucial step in ensuring a future that respects the deep history, traditions, and contributions of First Nations peoples. As educators, we see it as our responsibility to provide children with understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, ensuring that First Nations perspectives and cultures are integrated into everyday learning and play.

We strive to build meaningful, respectful, and enduring relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, grounded in trust and shared understanding. Our commitment extends beyond education alone; we strive to provide a culturally safe; inclusive environment where all children feel respected and supported. By strengthening these bonds and providing a space for dialogue, we promote equality, fairness, and unity. Through these efforts, we are dedicated to shaping a more connected and harmonious future for all generations to come.
