VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Based on our reconciliation journey so far, we recognise that reconciliation is not a destination, it’s an ongoing, evolving journey from the heart and mind and with ongoing action and inclusion it is when it can be deeply achieved.  We’re committed to strengthening respectful, genuine relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, grounded in listening, learning, and walking together.   We’re committed to embedding First Nations perspectives meaningfully throughout our curriculum and learning environments, to ensure children learning in an environment that cultures are fundamental.    We’re committed to ongoing critically reflecting on our own practices and seeking feedback from other members of our community and challenging biases that exist within ourselves and our community. We’re committed to creating a positive sense of identity, safe and secure space for truth-telling, in ways that are honest, age-appropriate, and grounded in hope and healing. We’re committed to continuous growth and believe in celebrating progress of our reconciliation journey, while staying humble will continue to open further learning opportunities and experiences.

We walk this journey of reconciliation together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, with purpose, with care, and with the belief that a reconciled future begins in the hearts and hands of our youngest learners however starts with us as adults.
