VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Dubbo, Cobra Street, our vision for reconciliation is grounded in deep respect and ongoing recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with a particular focus on the Wiradjuri people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we live, learn, and grow.

We envision a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are acknowledged and celebrated as the First Nations peoples of Australia. Through our daily practices, we honour this vision by teaching and modelling, helping the children in our care develop a lifelong respect for Elders past and present, and an appreciation for their wisdom, contributions, and diverse cultural knowledge.

Our pedagogy is built on fostering a strong sense of belonging and connection to the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We aim to nurture children who leave our service with a deep respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and all cultures, and a commitment to recognising and valuing the First Nations peoples of Australia throughout their lives.

We proudly embrace Wiradjuri perspectives and invite members of the Wiradjuri community to share their stories, knowledge, and cultural practices with our educators, children, and families. This collaboration enriches our learning environment and strengthens our collective journey toward reconciliation.
