VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Fit Kidz Glenwood North, we recognise our role in shaping young minds and fostering respect, inclusivity, and reconciliation. We celebrate our diverse community and are committed to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in our everyday practices. Our vision for reconciliation is built upon three key areas:

1. Commitment to Lifelong Learning: we acknowledge that many of us are still learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. As educators, we strive to deepen our understanding through professional development, engagement with First Nations voices, and reflective practice. By doing so, we ensure that our teaching is authentic, respectful, and enriching for the children.

2. Educating and Empowering Our Children: children are at the heart of reconciliation. Through storytelling, play, and cultural experiences, we nurture curiosity, respect, and appreciation for First Nations people and cultures. By respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in our curriculum, we support children to grow with an understanding of the rich histories and contributions of the First Peoples of Australia.

3. Strengthening Community Connections: reconciliation extends beyond our classrooms. We actively engage families in meaningful conversations and learning experiences, fostering awareness and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. By working together, we aim to build an inclusive, equal and equitable future for all.

We acknowledge the Dharug people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn and play. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. At Fit Kidz Glenwood North, we are committed to reconciliation, ensuring that First Nations cultures are acknowledged, respected, and represented every day.
