Our vision for reconciliation is to show respect and create connections between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and our educational community. In our educational practices we deliver to the children and families in consultation with our educators. We, as a whole, believe that reconciliation is an integral part of education. Kindy Patch strives to respectfully embed the perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. The use of carefully selected and ethically sourced resources will show our connections and respect in our practices between adults, children and families with theAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. The inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives is paramount. It is important that we support our centre community to recognise the true histories of Australia and strive for reconciliation and support each other’s reconciliation journeys. It is also important that we provide families, educators and children with the tools to challenge discrimination and ignorance - with positive education, open ended conversation and taking the first steps to reconciliation. Our vision includes collaborating closely with all families and educators to ensure our learning curriculum is as authentic and respectful as it can be, providing equal and equitable learning opportunities for all children. As a community within Kindy Patch we are creating a culturally safe environment for everyone to feel a sense on belonging within our Centre.
