The Emu Plains Kids Place values and respects the traditional cultural histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have walked this Land before us and continue to do so today. Building strong connections where we all walk together, learn and embrace truth is vital to building a pathway to recongnising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the First Peoples of this place we now call Australia. Â Â
We envision a future of respect and understanding where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are recognised as being the Traditional Custodians of the Land we live on. Where all Australians respect, embrace and appreciate the wisdom and knowledge held by Elders. Â Â
The Emu Plains Kids Place is working towards creating a space of safety and a sense of belonging for everyone across our community, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and community members. Â
As a learning community we will challenge ourselves to focus on building positive futures for every child, to eliminate racism, reduce inequality and promote cultural responsiveness. Â Â
