At Carita Children's Centre our vision for reconciliation is for Jarjums, Educators and Families to embrace, understand and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their cultures, histories, and ways of being and doing. We aim to move Australia away from racism, prejudice, ignorance to that of respect, justice understanding and acceptance. To support Jarjums in their learning of First Nations peoples, their cultures, their languages, and Australia's histories. To acknowledge our histories and the impact this has had on First Nations peoples. We seek to understand the significance and importance of culture, language, connection and country to First Nations peoples in developing a positive self identity to ensure the children of today grow with connection and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures.
