VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision is to create an inclusive environment where reconciliation is prioritised so that all children, families, and educators feel a deep sense of belonging, connection, and respect.   We are committed to fostering a meaningful understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, particularly that of the Dharug Nation, among the children and families in our care. We aim to embed cultural perspectives authentically and respectfully into our everyday practices, not only during specific cultural events or weeks of recognition, but as an integral part of our curriculum and service ethos.   As a team, we are dedicated to learning about and embracing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peopless true histories, learning styles, and pedagogies. We strive to incorporate Aboriginal ways of Knowing, Being and Doing into our teaching, and to uphold the principles of Aboriginal pedagogy throughout our educational programs.   We are committed to having ongoing, open, and honest conversations that support reconciliation. Through this, we aim to build cultural competence, challenge bias, and create a shared space of mutual respect for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous families and educators.   Together, we walk the journey of reconciliation, ensuring the voices, knowledge, and culture of First Nations people, especially those of the Dharug Nation, are recognised, respected, and celebrated in all aspects of our service.
