VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Braddon, our vision for reconciliation is to cultivate an inclusive and culturally rich educational environment where every child is empowered to learn about, appreciate, and celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We believe that reconciliation begins with education through meaningful engagement, storytelling, and truth-telling, we aim to foster understanding, respect, and unity among all members of our community. Central to our vision is the commitment to build and sustain genuine relationships founded on trust, mutual respect, and shared values between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the broader Australian community. We recognise that reconciliation is an ongoing journey, and we are dedicated to walking alongside First Nations peoples in partnership, listening deeply and learning continuously. We strive to create a culturally safe and welcoming space for children, families, educators, and the wider community. This includes embedding First Nations perspectives throughout our curriculum, daily practices, and service culture. By working collaboratively with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, we ensure that their voices, knowledge, and traditions are respectfully represented and celebrated. Through this vision, Goodstart Braddon seeks to nurture a generation of children who are not only aware of Australia's true history but are also active participants in shaping a reconciled future; one that honours diversity, promotes equity, and strengthens community connections.
