Our vision for reconciliation is that every young child has equal and equitable opportunities to flourish and learn in a nation that values, respects, and celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and ways of life. We acknowledge and deeply regret the loss of family, cultural identity, lands, waters, languages, and communities experienced by many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples due to colonisation. This shared histories has lasting effects on all First Nations peoples, with profound consequences that continue to shape both current and future generations we recognise this  requires us embrace responsibility, respect, and meaningful action towards reconcilaition. We have a vital role to play in ensuring that young children are educated about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and histories. Early childhood services must foster respectful relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. It is equally important to celebrate the achievements of individuals and communities, highlighting positive, contemporary representations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and identities.
