ECTARC Alunga Education and Care Service are committed to walking together towards reconciliation in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As we deepen our understanding of our shared histories, and the cultures, knowledge and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we are guided in our journey towards an equal and equitable society.
Our vision for reconciliation is a future of equality and equity, where children, families and community thrive, strong in culture, knowledge, respect, and understanding. We look to our sphere of influence to strengthen and build relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people in the local community including families and the local Primary School.
As a service, we are committed to reconciliation through daily practices. We envision a sense of belonging for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and work to Close the Gap in educational outcomes. A reconciled Australia, to us, is the acknowledgement and respect for, and actively seeking of, the diversity of knowledges and perspectives of First Nations peoples.
