VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

ECTARC Smith Street Education and Care Service's vision for reconciliation is to work in partnership with children, families, and local Aboriginal Elders and Dharawal community members, to learn from each other through respectful and reciprocal relationships. We respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives into our curriculum, to ensure a welcoming environment that offers cultural awareness and cultural safety.  We continue to work together with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members to ensure equal and equitable outcomes in education and wellbeing. We recognise and reflect on our shared histories and the faults of the past and the current impacts of these on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We will move forward together to heal, learn from each other and strive towards a future of mutual trust, respect, equality, equity, peace, and connectedness to ensure that the past will never be our future.
