Our vision for reconciliation is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to feel welcomed and acknowledged - not only in our service but in the local and wider community. Â We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land and value their continuing cultures and valuable contributions that they have made and continue to make within our community. Â We acknowledge the true history of this nation that includes unjust policies, discrimination and racism for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as a result of colonisation. Â We recognise the positive benefits that can result from Reconciliation, and we will continue our own learning journeys as well as teaching future generations about the importance of working towards Reconciliation. This will be supported by our educators through discussions, shared knowledge and building connections and relationships with the local First Nations people. All educators will be involved in embedding respect through daily curriculum practice as they build their knowledge and understanding about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and caring for Country. Â Our RAP was developed by staff, families and members of the community who worked collaboratively to set goals that promote relationships between the service and local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. These relationships build a strong foundation to work towards Reconciliation together. Â Â Â Â Â Â
