Our vision for reconciliation is to work collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into the Miranda Kindergarten community. We strive to respectfully engage in all experiences, interactions and practices with a strong vision to extend learning in relation to the living cultures, stories and the true histories of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We aim to have positive connections to all First Nations families, organisations and people in the community, with the shared knowledge that we are welcoming. We commit to promoting understanding, acceptance and respect for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and engage respectfully with Elders from Dharawal Nation, the Country we reside on. We aim to remunerate Traditional Custodians who are willing to share perspectives of the Dharawal Nation and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander peoples. This will support and instil in all children and families an appreciation of sense of belonging to the Country we share and live on with the Traditional Custodians. We will demonstrate our commitment to reconciliation by investing time and resources to our ongoing RAP journey and share this commitment with Educators at our service. This journey will be embedded, discussed and put into daily action with our children, families and those in the wider community who we engage with. We aim to empower Educators to be leaders in the reconciliation journey for Miranda Kindergarten through ongoing training with First Nation's organisations. As with all practice, we commit to critically reflecting and making change as needed, to ensure continuity and ever -improving relationships with all stakeholders.Â
