VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Narwee, we are committed to fostering a culture of respect, truth-telling, and learning, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives are embedded in everything we do. We acknowledge the Bidjigal People of the Eora Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we play, learn, and grow.

Our vision for reconciliation is a culturally safe and inclusive environment where children, families, and educators walk together on the journey of reconciliation. Through meaningful relationships and ongoing learning, we deepen our understanding of First Nations peoples, histories, cultures, and contributions. We strive to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our everyday practices, curriculum, and learning experiences, ensuring that all children feel a strong sense of belonging and connection to Country.

We are dedicated to building authentic relationships with local Elders, community members, and organisations, respecting their voices and wisdom which inform our approach to reconciliation. We create opportunities for truth-telling and acknowledging the strength, resilience, and diversity of First Nations peoples and cultures, encourage children to develop respect, empathy, and a lifelong appreciation for the oldest continuing cultures in the world.
