VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is  committed to fostering a culturally safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where the knowledge, traditions, and cultures of First Nations peoples are valued and acknowledged. Through meaningful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, ongoing learning, and reflective practice, we strive to deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and perspectives.  We embrace reconciliation as a journey of truth, respect, and unity, ensuring that our service actively contributes to a future where all children, families, and educators feel a strong sense of belonging and connection to Country. To bring our vision for reconciliation to life, Kinderoos Bexley will:  •Respectfully embed First Nations perspectives in everyday learning  •Incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures,  knowledge and perspectives into our curriculum t   •Provide children, staff, families and the wider community with opportunities to engage in meaningful discussions about Country, sustainability, and First Nations peoples' ways of knowing and being.  Create a Culturally Safe and Inclusive Environment  Ensure our physical space reflects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through artwork, and acknowledgment of Country.  Celebrate significant dates such as NAIDOC Week, and National Reconciliation Week, in ways that honour and respect First Nations voices.  Commit to Ongoing Learning and Professional Development  Provide educators with opportunities to engage in cultural awareness training and reflective practice.  Strengthen Family and Community Engagement  Encourage all families to participate in reconciliation initiatives and conversations.  Use our communication platforms to share knowledge, resources, and events related to First Nations cultures and histories.    By embedding these actions into our daily practices, we aim to create a space where all children grow with an appreciation and respect for the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
