Community Kids Bass Hill recognises that reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians is a collective responsibility. The centre recognises a sense of belonging as essential for children’s growth and commits to meaningful reconciliation through the implementation of a Reconciliation Action Plan. This plan outlines practical strategies to challenge racism, and to build respectful, collaborative relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. By engaging with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, the centre aims to provide an inclusive curriculum that supports the understanding of First Nation peoples, histories and perspectives.
