VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Community Kids Horningsea Park believes the foundation of respect and acknowledgement stems from knowledge. We believe that reconciliation is building an opportunity for ourselves and our local community to foster and develop an understanding of reconciliation and to share the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' histories, and cultures with our community of practice. We believe in making change through building respectful relationships with Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in community as we grow knowledge about reconciliation in our context. Our educators, children and the wider community engage in co constructive learning and making our centre a culturally safe, inviting space for everyone.      We will educate our wider community about the importance of critical reflection and being guided by the National Quality Standards, The Early Years Learning Framework and the voices and perspectives of First Nations peoples. We believe that reconciliation is a process of understanding equality, equity and demonstrating respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. We believe in changing the future for generations to come so we can all live in harmony with growing acknowledgement, respect, acceptance and reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all other Australians.  We believe in treasuring our differences and using our voices on our reconciliation journey.
