VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Kellyville Ridge we acknowledge that children’s connection to their community is essential to their sense of belonging and identity as we value all cultures.  We aspire to influence and guide our children, educators and families to gain a better understanding of the cultures and Lores of the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our early learning service stands, the Darug people, and build relationships with the Darug community in a respectful and equitable way.  To support our reconciliation journey and the development of relationships with Darug Traditional Custodians we are committed to understand that equal and equitable educational outcomes are essential to a reconciled Australia.  As critical researchers and reflectors, we commit to historical acceptance, deepening our understanding of Australia’s true histories, acknowledging and actively engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, perspectives and contributions.  Therefore, we will step out into our future more connected to the Traditional Owners of the Land that we gather, teach, learn and play on.  This will have a lifelong impact towards reconciliation for future generations, and we pledge to continue to care for the Land, animals and people too.
