VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision values and respects the deep connections of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples with Country, the Land in which we learn and play here at Wenty Children's Centre. We strive to build and maintain positive relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community, the Dharug People.

We acknowledge our role in facilitating equal and equitable partnerships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous people, so that we may foster values of respect, care, collaboration, and appreciation rooted in the rich diversity of our centre and wider community. These are reflected across our centre philosophy, room program, intentional teaching, resources, and critical reflection.

Our staff highly value our impact on Country using sustainable practices as a means of caring for our natural world while instilling an appreciation and connection to the environment within the children, families and educators of our school community.

Our vision acknowledges that we are on a journey of continuous improvement as our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of Knowing and Being grows through ongoing investigation, critical reflection, dedicated discussions and connecting with our community.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) stands as a commitment made by all educators to support and promote this vision for reconciliation, as part of Australia's reconciliation journey.
