The vision for reconciliation for our community at Explore and Develop Brookvale is the active acknowledgement of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples'- and cultures. We acknowledge the Gaimarigal People as the First Peoples of the Land on which our service is situated, respectfully including their perspectives into our daily practices.
We strive for children, families; and educators to learn about First Nations peoples’ cultures; and perspectives; and the true histories of Australia, recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' contributions to Australia's society today. We envision children and educators being active caretakers of the environment, deepening their knowledge and understanding of the interdependence of living things. We support educators to think critically about our practices and program, striving to be culturally responsive and confident in supporting and implementing our Reconciliation Action Plan.
We develop the knowledge of children, families; and educators about First Nation's peoples, cultures, histories and contributions, meaningfully integrating First People's perspectives into everyday practices to ensure children can learn from these perspectives from a young age.
