Kardinya Primary School is privileged and grateful to be located on beautiful Whadjuk Nyoongar boodja. We appreciate the ancient wisdom and resilience of the oldest living cultures in the world. In our reconciliation journey, our school upholds the values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility. We are dedicated to further developing cultural responsiveness through collaborations with Nyoongar elders and service providers. Staff are committed to modelling and promoting reconciliation. As a school community, we are on a learning journey together in creating a more just and harmonious life for all Australians. Our plan is to ensure we provide a culturally safe and respectful learning environment. We are developing positive relationships, ensuring a stronger connection with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, families, Nyoongar elders and local community and making them welcome in our school community. We see it as our responsibility to continue to gain a deeper understanding of Australia's true history and the ongoing impacts on First Nations Peoples and society in general. Staff undertake professional learning led by First Nations service providers and guide students to respect and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their cultures. Our goal is to reconcile with Australias history, to break down stereotypes and to connect with open hearts. Â
