VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Craigie Heights Primary School is located on Whadjuk Noongar Boodja and is an Independent Public School. Our motto, Every Student Matters. Every Moment Counts.' demonstrates our commitment to being respectful, working collaboratively together and being an inclusive community. As we continue on our reconciliation journey, we are committed to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our everyday learning by taking meaningful actions to learn, unlearn, and relearn about the cultures, languages, and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with a focus on the local Noongar Culture. We are committed to acknowledging, connecting with, and actively involving and listening to the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, community members and leaders. We will continue to actively recognise, value and celebrate the strengths, resilience and contributions of First Nations peoples within our school and wider community as we learn from the worlds oldest surviving living cultures. As we walk together, we will take brave and ongoing actions towards truth-telling and reconciliation, ensuring that these actions will build understanding and acceptance of our nations shared histories; achieve more equal and equitable educational opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students;  strengthen genuine partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parents and families; and positively influence all students and families to learn about, and contribute to, reconciliation. In committing to these reconciliation actions, we acknowledge past, present, and future First Nations leaders in our community, and we will play our part in promoting justice and equity for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
