Willunga Waldorf School is located on Kaurna Land and conducts camps and excursions on other First Nations peoples Lands. Sovereignty has never been ceded. It always was and always will be Aboriginal Land. We acknowledge the strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their enduring connections to Country and Culture.Â
We recognise the ongoing impacts of past and present colonial practices and views, including those embedded within Waldorf education. We commit to truth-telling about these practices, as part of the work of reconciliation. We commit to creating an environment in which all students and staff are engaged respectfully with First Nations cultural knowledge under the guidance and leadership of First Nations people. We will work toward a culturally safe and supportive environment at Willunga Waldorf School.Â
This RAP represents early steps on the lifelong journey towards reconciliation. This is a journey that requires all parts of the school community leadership, teachers, support staff, students, parents and carers to engage, commit and act. We are all at different places in our own reconciliation journey and each of our small steps will contribute to changed practices across the school community.Â
