Our vision is for each member of our College community to actively honour reconciliation. By prioritising an understanding of the unique and vital histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Australia’s past and present, we can advocate for a unified future. As part of our focus on holistic wellbeing, we support every girl to engage with truth, justice and healing through reconciliation. We develop and nurture women of strength, optimism and justice who acknowledge the wrongs of the past and who value working towards an equitable future in which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and heritage, and continuing contributions play a key part in a shared national identity.
We strive as a community for a society where reconciliation is not just a concept, but a lived experience embedded in every aspect of our work and relationships. Our commitment is grounded in our School principles of strength, optimism, and justice. Our vision is to continue to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across our curriculum, ensuring that the rich histories and cultures of First Nations peoples are integrated into teaching and learning activities. We actively seek guidance from local First Nations communities to deepen our understanding of their cultures and histories. We engage in genuine partnerships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to co-design programs and initiatives that promote cultural awareness and respect. We work collaboratively with Indigenous organisations and leaders to implement culturally responsive practices within our institution. We advocate for and prioritise the inclusion of Indigenous perspectives in decision-making processes within our school/community. Together we walk on our journey of reconciliation - learning, listening, and acting - to create a future where all thrive in unity and equity.
