VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Marist College envisions a future of reconciliation where all staff and students engage respectfully with the histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, both locally and nationally. Our goal is to create an environment and supportive frameworks that empower First Nations students, as well as all students, to achieve personal success in life, while recognising the enduring richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and heritages.

Following the example of Jesus, with Mary, Marist College Emerald serves as a Catholic faith, fostering the unique gifts and dignity of every individual. We will utilise our five characteristics to navigate our reconciliation journey.

Presence - Cultivating respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and community members, demonstrating mutual respect, understanding, and love.

Simplicity - Acknowledging the truth of the oldest continuing culture.

Family Spirit - Providing a culturally safe environment and a warm sense of belonging for all students, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, staff, and families.

In the spirit of Mary - Marist College will create equal opportunities, fostering open and respectful relationships, ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, can achieve their better outcomes.
