VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Every day in our school located on Gubbi Gubbi country, we are striving to strengthen relationships, build respect and provide meaningful opportunities in the classroom, around the school and with the community, ensure we are providing equal and equitable educational outcomes for First Nations peoples and all people.  As a school, we strive to respectfully embed the voice of First Nations people though our parent advisory group, student First Nations group and community connections in our decision-making processes relating to the whole school or individual well-being initiatives. This ensures that we uphold the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, staff and community members and their ways of living, learning and being are recognised and valued. We are committed in raising awareness about reconciliation for all Elimbah state school staff through on going current and update professional learning to develop a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories, perspectives to respectfully and confidently implement this within all learning throughout the schooling environment. We aim to support our staff to feel confident in the delivery of reconciliation in education within their classroom and broader community.
