At Mt Maria College Petrie we envision an Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community live in a state of unity, equality, and mutual respect, acknowledging shared history and fostering a culture of equity and opportunity for all. As a College community we understand and acknowledge that reconciliation inspires generosity of spirit and Truth-telling and entwines our paths on the reconciliation journey. We recognise the impacts we can have as staff, students, families and communities and we commit to reconciliation actions to strengthen these impacts. We envision a reconciled school community that works towards momentous shifts in race-relations, social policy, justice, and our path to reconciliation. We are a community grounded in faith, and we must continue to inspire and challenge each other and identify where we have fallen short. MMCP focuses on actively listening to the voices of First Nations of Australia communities and continue the journey to improving every student's education.Â
