At Claremont Special School, reconciliation means enriching our teaching and learning through truth-telling and integrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in our curriculum and classroom experiences. We make reconciliation visible by championing the voices of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, families, and community, celebrating these voices through the First Nations Professional Learning Community, our Claremont Reconciliation Action Plan, classroom learning experiences and events that create a culturally safe and inclusive environment for all. The First Nations PLC believes a reconciled community is one that is curious about Australian history and brings together the voices of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous peoples when collaborating on curriculum, events, and celebrations. We believe a reconciled Australia looks like equal opportunities for all people and sounds like a place where nescience is challenged.  Based on our reconciliation journey and learnings so far, our next most powerful steps will be guided by the Claremont Reconciliation Action Plan. In 2026, we welcome our parent and local community to participate in our journey towards reconciliation. Â
