VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Cranbourne East Secondary College values and honours the profound, ongoing connections that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to this land, its waters, and its skies. Their knowledge, wisdom and traditions represent the oldest, continuous cultures on Earth. As educators, we believe that it is our responsibility to continue learning and deepening our understanding to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, staff, and families experience a culturally responsive environment at our college.    We aim to meaningfully embed the richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures, perspectives, and histories across the college, acknowledge the injustices and trauma in our shared histories. We will partner with the Bunurong and Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation, and foster a school culture that promotes unity, respect and social justice.    As a school, we are committed to fostering respect, care, and responsibility for Country as we strive to empower current and future generations to uphold these values, to walk together in reconciliation, and to celebrate the wisdom and resilience of First Nations peoples.  At Cranbourne East Secondary College, we understand that reconciliation is a journey that requires ongoing learning, listening, and action. We are committed to walking this path together with  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, as we strive to build a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
