Clonard stands on the Lands of the Wadawurrung people. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples ongoing stewardship of the Lands and 60,000years+ of rich, diverse cultures. Our vision is inspired by our Kildare Ministries Living Justice, Living Peace Charter, which calls us to walk in solidarity with First Nations peoples, seeking meaningful change for a respectful, equitable and equal Australia, welcoming all into dialogue, and healing creation through care and recognition of the sacredness of Country. Clonards vision is one of seeking and accepting the truth of Australias histories, listening to voices of the past and those of the present calling us to a better future. As a learning community, Clonards vision is to provide equal and equitable educational outcomes, hope and purpose. We have a unique responsibility to build understanding students with the skills to reach their full potential and who hold respect for First Nations peoples, working together towards reconciliation. Clonard acknowledges the injustices since colonisation and their ongoing impacts on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and we aim to develop ongoing relationships and respectful partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, families, Elders, and communities. With recognition of the Uluru Statement of the Heart, Clonard recognises that First Nations peoples have the right of power over their destiny, and that through supporting this, students will have the opportunities to flourish.Â
