Our vision for reconciliation at Burwood East Special Developmental School is to provide an environment of cultural safety and inclusion for First Nations students, families, and staff. We strive to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures and perspectives in ways that are informed by First Nations voices within our curriculum in an inclusive and meaningful ways. Â We continue to build respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, groups, and organisations within the local community including the Wurudjeri people, the Traditional Custodians of this Land. Our commitment to reconciliation is ongoing, and we will continue to strive to deepen our cultural awareness, understanding, knowledge, and respect for the First Peoples of Australia as a school community.
