At Park Orchards Primary School (POPS) we invite students, families, staff and the wider community to join us on a meaningful journey of reconciliation. We are committed to building understanding, respect and connection between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and the wider community.
We honour the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn and play. We are dedicated to celebrating and learning from the rich cultures, histories and contributions of First Nations Peoples—the oldest continuous cultures on Earth.
Our vision is to create a culturally safe and inclusive environment where Koorie students feel valued, respected and proud of their identity. We aim to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in our teaching and learning, ensuring all students develop respect, empathy and an understanding of Australia’s shared history.
At POPS, we are committed to building strong relationships with local Aboriginal Elders and community members, learning from their stories and wisdom.
Together, we are taking meaningful steps toward reconciliation, creating a school community where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures are respected, acknowledged and understood.
