Deepdene Primary School recognises that early education, and education more broadly, is a pathway to a reconciled nation. We understand that our journey towards advancing reconciliation is one of continuous learning, unlearning and relearning and we are committed to actively deepening our cultural awareness and responsiveness surrounding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.  Our vision for reconciliation is for all students, educators, teachers, families and the wider community to value and learn about cultures, histories and perspectives of the First Peoples of Australia.  We will continue to cultivate an environment which holds the utmost respect for First Nations Peoples; actioned through our increased knowledge, training, and through advocating against racism and discrimination.  We will promote inclusive and collaborative learning opportunities that deepen our wider school communitys understanding of and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories and cultures. We will promote the understanding that reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is the responsibility of all Australians. We will be the change; creating  a place where we live, learn and work in partnership and in peace towards reconciliation.        Â
