VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Peak Corrimal East we want to build meaningful and respectful connections with the local Dharawal community. We aim to create an environment whereby all members of the centre develop a sense of purpose and fulfillment, built upon strong feelings of trust, connectedness, inclusivity, and respect between everyone. This is heavily established through promoting and embracing harmony between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples along with other fellow Australians. This will include the respectful inclusion of different First Nations teaching and learning activities whereby all members of the centre can become informed of the ways in which we can collectively strive for stronger and more inclusive relationships for everyone. These actions will aim to incorporate equality, equity, historical acceptance of our shared histories and the importance of removing negative race relations to help achieve our goals of stronger and better relationships. We feel it is important to provide an inclusive environment in which we can influence and engage children on how we can work together to create a better Australia for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all other Australians. We understand and place an importance on ALL educators being positive role models and respectfully educating children through our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander program. We aim to provide a welcoming environment for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and pledge to value their knowledge and hope to respectfully promote programs, as we continue our reconciliation journey together. As a centre we will always use respectful and inclusive language and terminology and forever be mindful of the way in which we speak about reconciliation.
