At Tallowood Steiner School, on beautiful Gumbaynggirr Country in Bowraville, our vision for reconciliation is to walk gently and respectfully with the First Peoples of this Land, honouring the strength, wisdom, and continuing culture of the Gumbaynggirr people.   

We acknowledge Gumbaynggirr people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn, play, and grow. We recognise their deep connections to Country, and we commit to listening, learning, and caring for this place alongside them.   

We commit to the ongoing integrating and acknowledgement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, voices, perspectives, and histories. We will nurture understanding and respect for the worlds oldest living cultures, recognising their enduring contributions to knowledge, language, art, song, and society.   

In partnership with Gumbaynggirr community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we will continue to build a learning environment where all children develop a strong sense of belonging and responsibility. We will share the truth of the past, honour the present, and grow together towards a future where reconciliation is lived daily with respect, equity, and care for each other and for Country.
