We acknowledge Aboriginal peoples, as the First Peoples and recognise their spiritual, social, cultural and economic relationships with their traditional lands and waters. Lurnea High School proudly acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the Land, the Cabrigal Clan of the Dharug Nation, where we live, work, grow together. We also recognise and respect the ongoing contributions made by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Ongoing Custodians of our Country and we take pride in the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Walking together, we are building a school system that promotes reconciliation through celebrating the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and creates a brighter future for all children and young people in our care. We understand the importance of self-determination, collaboration and partnership. Our aim is to build partnerships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians that are based on trust and respect. We are building a school that is culturally safe and free of racism.
